While traveling, you gain experiences, find souvenirs, and make memories with the people you meet along the way. But is that enough?
As I sit here waiting for my connecting flight to Switzerland, I find myself working on a special project.
I recently read an article about a teenager making his first trip. He talked about how he wanted to stretch his impact further than simply his friends and family at home. He wanted to leave a tangible piece of him with those he met along the road.
What a fantastic idea! Sure, traveling is about seeing cool places and bringing home some unique souvenirs, but it also has a greater purpose: spreading joy and living in the common knowledge that we’re all on this journey together, no matter how different the journeys may be. On my trip, I’m currently preparing 15 notecards that look like this.
Along with these notecards, I’ve packed 15 pieces of an “Oh, the places you’ll go!” puzzle. This poem speaks to me: it’s all about your potential as a human and not being afraid to take a different path if one of them simply isn’t for you.
I want every person I meet to be wild and bold with their dreams, and to never be afraid to head out of town if that’s the only place where you’re able to chase them.
Here’s to the friends I’ll soon be meeting along the road. Can’t wait to share some amazing memories with you all!
